Introduction: The problem that motivated the study was the need to relocate workers for health reasons and the need for the company to activate the sheet metal trimming position. The objective was to study the ergonomic conditions and implement adjustments to relocate workers who have work limitations due to musculoskeletal pathologies. Methodology: A study was conducted using an action and participation research (IAP) approach. The population and sample consisted of 08 male workers who had lumbar and/or cervical spine pathologies. It was developed in three stages to find ergonomic solutions and implement improvements. Results: Problems were identified in the design of the position, in the handling of loads and in the organization of work, making proposals for improvements that were discussed with the workers and the company. The adjustments were implemented and then the work position was re-evaluated with the implemented measures, identifying new problems. In a third phase, the improvements were incorporated and the incorporation of workers was implemented according to their limitations and type of musculoskeletal pathology with a rotation plan in the different activities, with monthly follow-up for three months. Discussion: The workers and the company were involved in the transformation process according to the Technical Standard for the control in the handling, lifting and manual transfer of loads in Venezuela. Conclusions: the participation of the actors in the implementation of the ergonomic improvements allowed the adaptations of the work position and the relocation of workers with musculoskeletal injuries.
