Architecture: An integrative discipline of knowledge
Keywords:
Architecture, Discipline, KnowledgeAbstract
The disciplinary construction of knowledge is linked to diverse cultural forms, whose processes of differentiation and integration encompass closely related areas, whether due to their object of study or the demands of human activities that incorporate them into scientific endeavors. In this context, architecture is recognized as a specific discipline, conceived simultaneously as an art and a technique for designing and constructing physical spaces, integrating form, functionality, and aesthetic principles. This article reflects on architecture as a discipline that integrates knowledge. The research was developed using a qualitative approach, based on documentary sources and the application of the hermeneutic method, which allowed for a critical interpretation of the theoretical and practical foundations of architecture in its interdisciplinary nature. It concludes that architecture, understood from this perspective, transcends the technical and the formal, reaffirming itself as a field of knowledge that articulates science, culture, and society in the construction of a more meaningful, sustainable habitat, open to the complexity of the contemporary world.
